Meet The Teachers
Hi there! I'm Kyla, the founder of Traditional Bachata Nashville.
For the last several years, I've been traveling back and forth to the Dominican Republic, learning from the people who live this dance every day. Through that experience, I completely fell in love with traditional bachata, not just the movement itself, but the culture, the music, and the way it brings people together.
After bringing more than 100 people to the Dominican Republic through my retreats, I realized I wanted to create that same feeling of connection here in Nashville.
Traditional Bachata Nashville was born from that vision. I wanted a place where people could learn bachata in a way that feels rooted, welcoming, joyful, and human. A place where beginners feel comfortable, experienced dancers keep growing, and community is just as important as technique.
While you'll still find me teaching classes, Running Teteo, organizing events, and probably chatting with everyone in the room, one of my greatest joys has become mentoring the next generation of TBN teachers. I chose these dancers to train because of their ability to play on the dance floor, welcoming spirit, and their love for DR.
Our instructors are still in training, but they've already poured countless hours into studying traditional bachata foundations, musicality, cultural context, pedagogy, and community care. I couldn't be more excited for you to learn alongside them as we continue growing this community together.
Thanks for being here. It truly means the world.

Qué lo que, this is Sabré.
I have loved to dance since I was little, dancing in the house with my grandma Mama Tina and the rest of my family. The dances that have my heart are Traditional Bachata, Casíno, and Cumbia.I came to TBN after falling in love with traditional bachata and the culture during Tu Pasito with Kyla. The playfulness of this dance found a permanent place in my heart that week.
I am excited to share my love for Latin dance, and I hope that everyone who comes to TBN finds their own joy here, whether it is through the dance itself or through the community that surrounds it.

Hi, I am Lucia.
What brought me to Traditional Bachata Nashville is the creative freedom this dance gives you. There is something so beautiful about being completely yourself while also connecting deeply with another person. I love that traditional bachata creates these small three minute moments where you get to be fully present with someone, moving together with curiosity, intention, and joy.I hope that when you walk through our doors, you feel that same spark. A space to breathe, to play, and to discover how good it feels to be seen, supported, and met right where you are.
Welcome. I cannot wait to share the dance floor with you.

Ciao! My name is Michelle!
I have been moving to music since I could walk, and years later I took my first Latin dance class and everything opened up. Whether I am dancing alone, sharing a connection with another person, or moving together in a group, dance has always been part of my journey. That journey has brought me here to Traditional Bachata Nashville. Here, we will learn more than steps. I believe you will grow in ways that go far beyond dance skills. You will connect, explore, and discover new parts of yourself through the music and the community.
Welcome. Come exactly as you are. I am ecstatic you are here and I cannot wait to share this journey with you.
